I am looking to replace a server power cord beside the one in the above cooperation. The one currently being used is also a 16AWG but of longer length (maybe 2 or 3 times longer).

Yes it will work. I hold 1 power cord that is 15 foot long for bench testing systems. Length contained by this way does not affect the system or actions.
Yes. Shorter cords will have smaller amount electrical resistance, longer cords more.
