Type of processor slot?

Is a processor resembling a video card and only fits into a solid type of slot or can all processors fit within your PC?

Type of processor slot?

there are lots of different slots a video card have 3 basic slots a pci slot, agp slot and pci express slot, and in attendance about 50 different slots for processors explicitly if you count all the ancient ones lol.. if you have any other question feel free to letters me.
There are several different types of processor slots. Not only that, but motherboards may enjoy the slot type you're looking for, but it may not be able to manipulate the CPU you're looking at.
Processors are pretty tightly coupled to the motherboard - you can't exactly swap them out (except for another of the same benevolent but possibly different specifications) like video cards.
Yes, it's resembling a video card.

There are many types of processors and several types of motherboards which are created to support them.

If you have a processor but do not know what type of motherboard to purchase and want to screw on the motherboard yourself, I suggest that you bring the entire workstation setup to a reliable computer shop instead.

Let the guys sort out everything for you. Even though a certain motherboard can support a particular processor, sometimes there are trustworthy known issues next to a certain combination of processor and motherboard. Thus if something go wrong, they can simply do some testing and recommend another type of motherboard instead.

Also, computer parts are sensitive and all right, attaching the wrong processor to a motherboard might fry your entire computer.
