I use iTunes, but save for that I don't know what happend to all the free space?

Only you know what can shift and what can't. Just stay out of WINDOWS and it's subdirectories, unless you want things to suddenly stop working in the middle of your session.



How much space is taken up by your iTunes music folder? It may be more than you regard.



Go through Add/Remove programs and look for stuff you don't use anymore. If you don't know what something is, be careful, it might be a WINDOWS program.



THere is also a program call "TreeSize" that has a free trial journal. It will crawl your disks and tell you exactly how much space is taken up and where on earth. It'll help you track down full folders.
right click recycle can thing and drop amount of memory it gets, and subside amount of memory set aside for system restore, which is somewhere else i dont remmeber exactly where
Right click your drive contained by My Computer, its normally C: drive after select properties then disk verbs up and then follow the instructions.
that's up to you. You know which programs you use and which ones you don't. Get rid of the programs you haven't used fora long time. Or invest contained by a portable external hard drive that you can plug into your laptop anytime you requirement it. You can put all of your programs and key files on there, freeing up your laptop's easier said than done drive space.
clear out your browswer cache. Do a search on doc, pdf's, xls, txt files and see what you can delete. Use Windows verbs up and it will eliminate most of this within one shot. Other option is to start finance up your data and later removing if from the system including iTunes.
