Symptoms of rock-hard drive problems?

You may hold a failing hard drive if...



* System frequently pause for 5-10 seconds or more as you try to read files from the rock-hard drive, open programs, etc.



* Hear a repetitive clunk clunk clunk or clickclick nouns coming from the hard drive.



* Frequent messages contained by Windows about rock-hard drive read or write errors.



* Error when you boot up saying frozen drive is near fiasco.

* Smoke followed by BSOD.

Strange sounds similar to clicks, chattering, etc., odd odour, slooow access speeds, odd error messages, the enumerate goes on and on.



Run Disk Cleanup and Defrag. If you see any strange error messages from any, your hard drive may be on it's end legs!



Back up all your personal notes and replace the drive.
