Oh and there isn't a little button I can press near a paperclip... someone already told me that :] Thanks

The disc rom drive on my computer won't break open?

It should actually be for a moment hole not a button and some drives require almost the full legnth of a paperclip. Depending on your system you may have a faceplate to be precise blocking that hole (HP and Sony are notorious for this). If it's not debut try going into my computer and right click on the drive. click eject. If it doesn't work (or you can't see the drive is detected) you most likely inevitability a new drive.
Yes. There is a small 'Hole' that you can 'Insert ' a straightened 'Paper Clip' to release the Tray.

First unplug your computer, remove the cover & reseat the two cable attached to the CD-ROM - (BTW you can't burn to a CD-ROM, but I'm guessing that's a mistype) - after that if it still doesn't work after booting(FOR XP only), try using windows device governor <right click my computer & select properties) and delete the drive - when ity reboots it should prompt you to reinstall the drive <if it doesn't then the drive is dead> - finally if none of that works step into system setup during BIOS load (most machines - press F2 during initial startup) - look for drives 2-whatever and insure that the BIOS can see the CD-ROM - if it say unknown drive - turn it to off, amass settings, reboot, go final into BIOS change to auto - release settings (esc - & then save) and after reboot again & hopefully it will detect the drive. If not - I'm out of solutions.
