Strategy for using an external easier said than done drive?

I a moment ago purchased an external hard drive because my internal is satisfying up quick. How should I used the external tricky drive? Should I only use it for files or can I store games approaching Madden or my video editing program on it? Will playing a game from the external drive hurt the celebration? Should it be connected via the USB port or the Firewire?

For games external drive works fine with Firewire ,but save for that I would stick with Internal drive as prime operating drive..



External drive is a great storage medium data/videos/pics etc etc, allowing you much more access on fundamental puter.



Store as much as you can I wouldn't advise programs anyone on external drives as they can stuff up easily...



Running Disk Cleanup and Defrag is most considerable once all information etc stored ..
The local (internal) drive is best for performance.

Use it for programs & games.



Use the external drive strictly for storage & backup.

I have one, and what I did be put all my files on in attendance such as music and photos. For games I suggest you keep them on your internal drive since the USB port is relatively slow. Of course if you use firewire you can can put your games on in attendance and run them without any trouble.
I reflect you will accomplish your goal if you lately off-load your pics, music, and video files. If you have plentifully of data files approaching excel or word or access or powerpoint, store them on the external drive also.



I like to avoid installing programs on an external drive.



After you hold offloaded adjectives your intended files to the external, be sure to run cleanup and defrag. Good Luck
