My dvdwriter be dead, it could basically open and close, but no spinning of the cd/dvd inside and so no background.
So I plugged a new dvd-writer and configured it correcly into the bios.
This spanking new dvd writer can read the TOC of the cd/dvd so I can see the data on the disc, but when it try to copy/open a database it just provide me a I/O error. i/O is obtained even next to Nero test, or Easy cd Creator drive try-out mode.
So I was wondering that perchance my secondary IDE passageway of my MB is fried somehow.
Someone had like problem ? Could you think almost any test I can do ?
Strange inconsistent dvd-writer?
Hook it upto your primary IDE pipe, and see if it does the same article, if it does, it may just be discouraging HDcontroller drivers. Anytime you buy a piece of hardware, download the latest drivers, and firmware updates. equipment rental cost
