What's the difference between 2048MB [512x4] and 2048MB [1024x2]?

The difference is how the memory is package. If you have a choice of upgrading your memory, you would be better past its sell-by date with 2 (boards) of memory of 1024. Most times in attendance are 4 slots for expanding your memory. So if you use the two memory boards you will still have 2 slots remaining if you looked-for to increase your memory in the adjectives. Whereas if you use four boards of 512, all of the slots will be used up.

It is alot more efficient if you use the former 4X512 compared to the 2x1024, logically at the expense of your RAM slots.
I think within is no difference. With 1024 x2, there are lone 2 bars of knock against, with 512 x4, within will be 4 bars...

the simply difference i can say is... beside 512 x4, it occupy more of your ram slots on your motherboard...
