testing to see if my dvd burner is still working?

hi i hold a dvd burner that came beside my computer and it doesnt seem to know how to burn dvds. If i try to burn a cd or something it works perfectly. Could it be my dvd disc? im trying to write on a TDK dvd-r. and the dvd writer say its dvd r/rw compatible. I don't know what the model for the dvd writer is though. I was wondering if theres any test i can run on it to see if its still working. Thank you!

Hi, for your little dilemma with the dvd writer, conceivably that your dvd only supports any DVD+R or DVD-R (Also try different media, because sometimes some discs are not compatible beside some dvd burners). So try these different dvd's to see if it works.....this usually happens on elder dvd burners, but now both are compatible..



Anyways, if they dont work than move about out and help your self to a cheap spanking new one....something like LG or SAMSUNG.....they are a pretty biddable and cheap also...
